Ask the NTSB about your bus issue. They can only make light of problems because they actually have no power until something happens. I worked in transportation for thirty years in the Rail Road industry and got to know a lot of federal people associated with the DOT which is another useless organization. The best guys were from the Association of American Railroads in Washington. The NTSB had a lot of my friends working for them in the Boston area which are all retired by now.

We are originally from MD, and when I retired we moved to Newnan to be closer to our son and his family. When you are new to an area, as we were, it is very difficult to find a reliable mechanic, painter, etc., etc.

Our son, having been here in Newnan for some time was some help. As senior citizens we are looked at and dealt with differently than our 35 year old son, so sometimes the way a mechanic treated him is different than they would treat us. Shortly after moving here, we bought another car. Not wanting to be left stranded, we took the new car(new to us) to the service center at Thomas Crossroads and aked him to check it out for us. It wound up costing us a little over $1,500.

I don't know if we really got taken or not, but I sort of feel we were. Thankfully we have had little car problems since then. I'll never be able to build a relationship with that garage. Is there a way to find a reliable help like mechanic, painter, electrician, etc.?

I just watched an update on this story on today's 4 o'clock news broadcast. What surprises me is that the sheriff seems to be unaware of the guidelines for classifying someone as an independent contractor. I think he's looking at more trouble, but this time from the IRS!

Wendy as I have said in the past someone has to get after the attorney generals office, not the inspector general. In November when the people kick her highness Franklin out on her butt, then they can make sure Pennington goes too. He was as crooked as they come when he was in New Orleans and it just carried over. The old saying still applies, when the lights go on they run like cocker roaches looking for a home. Like rats abandoning a sinking ship. I can not beleive the people of Atlanta would be that stupid as to re-elect these two, but then stuff happens.

Wendy -

Great job on the Office Depot / BOE piece. Unforutunately, however, this great find is simply the tip of the iceberg when it comes to this sorry branch of government, their lack of foresight and self responsibility.

Just in the now City of Milton, I have witnessed countless instances where the BOE practices do as a I say, not as I do. The end result is a loss of millions of people being kicked out of their homes.

They need to be removed, charged with misappropriation of funds and serve jail time.

Keep up the good work.

Wendy,
Why did the FCBOE purchased 116+/- acres of land in Milton to build 2 schools, then decide to move the HS off the this piece of land and move it back to the original piece of land they considered a year before (Bethany/Cogburn),paying more for it a year later? They are still planning on building a Middle school on that 117 acres of land that they paid over 14 million dollars for, and less then half of the land is usable so I hear? How much money did they end up spending extra (wasted) for the property on the corner of Bethany and Cogburn Rd. Reeves was the decision maker in all of this according to the M. Herald. The City of Milton made a resolution this year on that site which is why they probably moved it back to the original pick for the High school. Talk about wasting children's funds and tax payer money. She and the lot responsible for this waste of money should be fired straight away. Amazing how easy it is to spend other people's money, what they did was an atrosity. They also wasted, now that I remember reading about in the AJC a while back, over a million on property for an elementary school in Sandy Springs as well.

Wendy, thank you for your pushing the investigation on this. I hope it will be an inspiration for more local, county and state agencies to review their contracts with vendors. It seems Office Depot has been the target of many investigations of late, and probably well deserved. Keep up the good work

I'm not surprised. These people run for office but
don't want to take personal responsibility.
Same as we see on all levels of government.
We need a "pay by results" government.

I think you might find a lot of waste in the fuel
purchasing of the school system also.
